We had a special opportunity to build a home for a community organization called Job’s Retreat. The mission of Job’s Retreat is to provide a Christian-based “retreat” where mentally or physically handicapped patients can visit for a weekend or several days. This allows them to see different sights, experience new things and also allows their caretakers to have a break from their duties. When the owners came to Trademark, all they had was a dream. Together, we found a more-than-perfect piece of land; custom-designed building plans and constructed the retreat with careful consideration given to the weekend retreats and guests that would be visiting the home. The home features a luxurious full guest suite on the main floor providing a view of the private pond that sits behind the home. The adjoining private bathroom features a jetted soaking tub, large tiled shower with handicap accessibility and a vanity sink lowered for wheelchair usage. All doors are 36” wide and a wheelchair ramp was also constructed. Not only are the interior features geared toward rest and relaxation, but also the exterior of the home is packed full of opportunities to relax as well. It has a rocking chair front porch, large rear porch and 2nd floor balcony overlooking the pond. With those features plus a covered porch with ceiling fan and wood gazebo next to the pond, guests are sure to enjoy their stay at Job’s Retreat. We were honored to assist in God’s work through Job’s Retreat and look forward to the next opportunity we have to work with a local charity group!
